These are a few of our favorite....

Christmas books! I usually like to put our Christmas books in a basket under our tree and choose books from there each night for reading at bedtime, but we have outgrown our basket. Right now they are still stuck in their storage tub until for us to dig through each day until I can find some other way to store them. Tonight I am going to share some of our favorites out of the bunch. I will share the rest of our collection over the next few days.

And now... without further ado....in no particular order....

Gingerbread Baby by Jan Brett- Love this author/ illustrator. I had several of her books in my classroom when I was teaching. Cute little version of the story.

Bear Stays Up for Christmas by Karma Wilson and Jane Chapman- We have several of these "Bear" books in our collection at home. The story of Bear and his friends is heartwarming.

The Polar Express by Chris Van Allsburg- Love the movie, love the story, love the CD that we got with the book. A well earned Caldecott Medal winner. A year round favorite in our house.

Carl's Christmas by Alexandra Day- Another book in our collection of "Carl" books. These books only have words on the first and last pages. Hubby and I have fun making up a different story to go along with the pictures each time we read it. Carl is a Rottweiler dog who the Mama leaves in charge of the baby while she runs errands etc. We frequently leave B with Carl when we go out too.

You Are My Miracle by Maryann Cusimano Love and Satomi Ichikawa- okay this might be my very favorite. I think I get tears every time I read it. Since B is our miracle baby, it holds special meaning for us!

Santa Claus is Comin' to Town by J. Fred Coots and Haven Gillespie Illustrated by Steven Kellogg- Gotta love me some Steven Kellogg. Great illustrator. This is also one of my favorite Christmas songs. I love singing/ reading it at bedtime.
Frosty the Snowman by Jack Rollins and Steve Nelson- Illustrated by Rebecca Thornburgh- This is an open the cover, hear the music type book. B never got tired of opening this and playing it over, and over, and over. I think it is his favorite Christmas song.
Snowballs by Lois Elhert- I think we read this book almost every night last year. B really seemed to like something about it. Lois Elhert is one of my favorites as well though.
Snowmen at Christmas by Caralyn Buehner-pictures by Mark Buehner- Doesn't everyone want to know what snowmen really do at night? Very cute story and cute pictures.
