Our Trip to the Pumpkin Patch- AKA Alfalfa field

About a week before Halloween, Hubby, B and I took a trip to the local Pumpkin Patch. A local garden center in our town had turned their alfalfa field out behind their building into a little patch for kids to enjoy a free hayrack ride and choose their own pumpkin. We had so much fun! The owner purchased about 800 average size, nice shaped pumkins mostly from local farmers and set them in the alfalfa field. The little kids do not realize that it is not a "true" pumpkin patch with all of the twisty vines, rotten pumpkins, or any of the other troubles you would find at a real patch. B was SO EXCITED to see the pumpkins out in the field and could not WAIT to reach our destination on the hay ride. We chose 5 regular size pumpkins in which we carved our Little Einstein faces, and 2 small size ones for our porch. They also had a little spot with hay bales set out that you could have brought some lunch and had a little picnic or something. B enjoyed jumping from one to the next.

We could have gone to Vala's Pumpkin Patch, Bellevue Berry Farm, or Pioneer Trail Patch and paid a bunch of money and used a lot of gas, but we had such a good time at our local little spot, who needs more than that when you are 3?
